No tech train trip

Hi Kristen,

I’m a pediatric occupational therapist and sensory specialist with expertise on the impact of technology on child health and academic performance and would like to comment on a unique idea for a fun family train trip…don’t take along the technology!

In order to experience the true impact of technology overuse on family conflict and child behavior, I suggest families go one hour per day, one day per week and one week per year (the train trip) “unplugged”. I have an exercise called The Survivor Unplugged (found in my Live’in Resource Guide on www.zonein.ca) where kids do a variety of activities while they are unplugged e.g. journal, play the Unplug’in Game, take the technology addiction questionnaire…that help them to stayed unplugged when the week is over.

Let me know if this is what you are looking for and I can tell you more. I’ve attached my Ten Steps to Successfully Unplug Your Children from Technology.

Have a GREAT day!

Sincerely,
